General Counsel at Marginalen Bank

Marginalen Bank has approximately 300 employees in Sweden and has approximately 300,000 customers. Marginalen Bank is owned by Marginalen AB. The bank’s roots date back to 1979 and since the beginning of the 1990s, the Marginal was grown by its own power. In conjunction with Marginalen’s acquisition of Citibank’s Swedish Consumer Bank 2010, Marginalen Bank was formed. Now you wish to recruit a Chief Legal Officer for banking and the Corporate Law Department. The Chief Legal Officer is part of the Bank’s management team and reports to the CEO. The role includes personnel responsibility for two persons.

Duties

The work as Chief Legal Officer includes ensuring proper and effective counseling for ongoing operations, as well as proactively developing and improving the management of legal issues. In the Corporate Legal Department, you will assist the Bank’s entire units in the areas; internal corporate law, counseling and government relations. You also work with education, regulation and information. The role of Chief Legal Officer also includes active legal work in various cases, contract writing, negotiations, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for a graduate with a minimum of 10 years experience in legal work with financial activities and / or transactions. Banking experience is very meritorious. Fluent Swedish and good legal English is a requirement. As a person, you have a clear impetus to take responsibility, influence and develop the business together with others. We are looking for you as with retained integrity as a lawyer enjoying working in an expansive, entrepreneurial environment.
