Legal AI, GC´s on digitalization and NewLaw pioneers Axiom

Get ready for the 3rd edition of Nordic Legal Tech Day on September 21. Check out state of the art legal tech tools available on the market. Meet thought leaders sharing views on the digitization of the legal industry.

“Nordic Legal Tech Day is the annual legal tech event in the Nordics offering a full day of inspiring content on digitization of legal management and the legal industry – in-house, law firms,  newlaw, start-ups and VCs – all welcome” says Anna Lensmar-Friedman CEO of Legal Works.

“As former in-house counsels we want to show technology useful for companies and in-house teams. It´s in the legal processes of our companies where digitalization needs to happen” says Ulf Linden, COO and founder of LegalWorks.

Sandy Devine, the European managing director of Axiom Law, will be the key note speaker opening the day. This is the first time Axiom, the front runner of alternative legal services with more than 2000 employees worldwide, will come to the Nordics.

“I am very happy to have Axiom here. They have very much re-defined the industry of legal services in US and have now built up a strong foothold in Europe. It will be interesting to hear about their plans” says Leif Frykman, one of the founders of LegalWorks.

Artificial intelligence-based solutions have had its commercial breakthrough the last year, especially in the M&A field. Now we are seeing applications in other areas, e g in data privacy field. Richard Tromans from Artificial Lawyer will guide us through the opportunities of this technology. The developments will be discussed with the AI-panel consisting of the CTO of RAVN, Peter Wallqvist, Emily Foges, CEO of Luminence and Magnus Steen from CBI.

Exclusively at Legal Tech day, LegalWorks will present the results of the 2017 Nordic General Counsel report focusing on digitalization and based on a survey taken by GC:s in the Nordic countries. How far along in the digitalization process are the GCs? What are the drivers behind the digitalization of the legal departments and who are pushing for change? “We have undertaken a survey with the Nordic GCs to find out more and I look forward to discuss the results with our GC panel at the event” says Anna Lensmar-Friedman who will host the panel discussion.

During the day there will be 12 mini-sessions showcasing technology in the field of contract management, compliance and data privacy management, information services and artificial intelligence tools. Check out the line up and pre-book a seat in advance at here.

The legal tech start-up scene in the Nordics starts to look interesting. A number of projects are already in a commercial phase.  “We have invited a number of start-ups to pitch their cases and hope to create meeting point for start-ups and VCs in the legal tech field. Maybe this can be the first step towards a legal tech hub in the Nordics” says Ulf Lindén. The start-up pitching session will be hosted by Jimmy Vestbirk. Jimmy is one of the leading profiles in legal tech start-up community in UK and the founder of LegalGeek.

The last agenda item will be the Legal Innovation Prize established by legaltech.se and its founder Fredrik Svärd. Last year the prize was awarded to verksamt.se and their online incorporation service. More than 30 nominees have been submitted this year and there is still a chance to nominate your favorite candidate here.
