LegalWorks advances within digital law – recruits Joel Wickman

LegalWorks Nordic, Sweden’s leading new law initiative, has employed Joel Wickman as Chief Development Officer. Joel has been brought on board to be in charge of the development and expansion of LegalWorks’ digital offer to the market.

Joel most recently comes from the family law firm Familjens Jurist, where he was responsible for the development of new business propositions and internal digitalization projects. He has a lawyer degree and has previously worked with IT and IP law at Delphi, Bird & Bird and the Swedish Prosecution Authority, before he changed direction to become an entrepreneur and, among other things, founded Sweden’s largest legal advisory site lawline.se. Since 2016 he has run his own business and assisted companies in the legal industry with business development and digitalization.

“With over 10 years of experience in law, entrepreneurship and digitalization, I have the prerequisites to build LegalWorks’ new legal services, that – with the help of technology and digitalization – are truly created completely based on the client’s needs,” says Joel Wickman.

“We are extremely happy to have Joel join the team,” says Ulf Lindén, co-founder and COO of LegalWorks. “With his previous experience of developing and commercializing digital legal platforms, he is the natural choice to further expand our legal offering. Joel will primarily focus on developing our platforms, our blockchain-based tool for corporate formalities CapChap and of course LegalBuddy *, which is planned to be launched at the end of March. Joel has all the relevant experience to help us take the next digital step in our journey towards transforming the legal market. “

“Throughout my professional career, I have always been passionate about digital innovation and law,” says Joel Wickman. “I am convinced that the combination of them both will fundamentally change the legal profession and make legal aid simpler, better and cheaper. LegalWorks is the brightest shining star in the new law industry that is emerging alongside the traditional legal players. The company has been built from the ground up with customer focus, passion and innovation, combined with a value-driven company culture, which are all crucial factors for me. After both working with the talents behind LegalWorks and following the company’s rapid growth, I finally got the question to join the movement. The answer was obvious – ‘Yes! I’m already a LegalWorker!’”

* LegalBuddy is a new digital platform for legal support, created to lower the threshold for business law. The platform – which has been developed and will be operated by LegalWorks advisory business LWA – will include a free section of DIY legal support, checklists, automated agreements and a huge library of frequently asked questions in business law. The platform will also provide a premium section, where you can book consulting sessions with experienced lawyers as well as obtain services and packages at fixed prices.

LegalBuddy is planned to launch on March 27 this year.
